Siemens S7-1200 Programmable Logic Controller

The Siemens S7-1200 PLC is built on a compact modular design with an easily scalable and versatile functionality. Plant and machinery can both be interfaced with a broad range of I/O signal modules without upsizing the CPU footprint. Specialised technology modules can also be added for individual functions, such as centralised and decentralised communications or counting.

The modular S7-1200 PLC is aimed at simple automation tasks requiring extreme precision, and is an ideal controller for many different applications. It is comprised of several different CPU performance classes, which may all be expanded with up to eight signal modules and three communication modules, without physically enlarging the controller size. The S7-1200's Safety Integrated CPU is designed to handle both safety-related and standard tasks, and its communication interfaces meet the highest industry standards.

The S7-1200's spread of powerful technological functions make it an attractive option when designing a comprehensive automation process. The integrated PROFINET/Ethernet interface means that neither an Ethernet expansion module, nor additional programming cables are required, thus reducing both space and costs. The S7-1200 also features extensive integrated technology such as High Speed Counting I/O, PID controllers, motion control I/O and Analog I/O, which also save space and expenditure by eliminating the need for specialised additional modules.

The intuitive functionality of the single engineering framework also saves considerably on time and overall costs, as HMI, Logic and Networking all have common icons, menus and navigation.

This Siemens PLC has been approved for the protection class IP20 and is designated for installation within a control cabinet.
